I'm the only gaijin eating with about 500 Japanese. I see a few other gaijin, but they just look around and bail. They're missing it. I didn't come here just for pictures. What a waste not to be a local for a while. There's other stuff besides Yakisoba. All kinds of food. Although, I did see some guy eating a little whole fish on a stick. I couldn't find it, or I would've given it a go and taken some pics for you. There's also sweet stuff as well. (rice stuff dipped in syrupy stuff.) All good, I get full. No I don't really speak Japanese. Seriously, just get in line. They know why you're there. Pay the money and indulge. Live life 'cause you're dead tomorrow. You actually get more than this, I was hungry and half way through it before I remembered to take a picutre. Hmm...this is probably a good time to mention it, since you may be asking yourself the question...any food problems? No, not for me. I drink the water, eat the food and enjoy it all. I know I don't like sea urchin and Natto and neither do most Japanese. They're a little to funKy even for my palate and I enjoy eating blue cheese by itself. And if you're really green, do yourself a favor and buy a package of chopsticks at a store for a dollar. Take them home and practice and I mean force yourself to eat with them. Children aren't born knowing how to use chopsticks ;) By the time you get here, you'll look like a local eating up the food and no one will give you a second glance. |
